About the event
Many children who appear capable and successful can quietly begin to lose confidence as expectations grow.
When being “good at things” becomes important, mistakes can start to feel uncomfortable, feedback can feel personal, and learning can become something to get right rather than something to explore.
In this small, reflective workshop we’ll explore why this happens and what helps children develop a more secure sense of themselves — one that allows them to approach challenges with curiosity, resilience and self-belief.
We’ll also touch on how the brain learns best. When children feel safe to be curious, ask questions and make mistakes, the brain releases chemicals that support motivation, attention and learning. When learning feels risky or pressured, those same systems can begin to work against us.
The session will offer practical insights into supporting confidence and resilience in everyday life, within a relaxed and discussion-friendly environment.
